In commemoration of the 150th Anniversary of the American Civil War, the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library invites you to

ILLINOIS ANSWERS THE CALL: BOYS IN BLUE

A Civil War Exhibition
April 12-December 30, 2011
Open Daily through Labor Day Weekend
Library exhibit viewing is free and open to the public


Drawn from the Library's vast collection of original Civil War photographs, artifacts, sheet music, and letters, this exhibit illustrates Illinois' initial response to the call-to-arms at the outbreak of the Civil War.

Regiments featured include:

1st – 17th Cavalry
1 and 2nd Light Artillery
7th – 55th Illinois Infantry

A collage highlighting a soldier from each of these units is also included.

The exhibit is presented in groupings that include:

Chaplains
Musicians
Generals
Dead and Wounded
