Springfield Moms Debuts New Logo and Announces
Charter Sponsors for Popular Family Based Area Web Site
Springfield, IL — What started out three years ago as a fun, easy way to share parenting information among friends has turned into a well-traveled website now sporting a brand new updated logo. The Springfield Moms website (www.springfieldmoms.org) has also attracted key charter sponsors including The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, St. John's Children's Hospital, WDBR 103.7 FM and 1240 WTAX AM, Springfield Racquet and Fitness Center and Springfield's YMCA, among others.
The old logo, created by a young daughter of one of the group's volunteers, represented the website's early target audience of families with babies and toddlers. As the website grew in popularity, the content shifted to include other ages as well. Now nearly 65% of readers have children ages 3 — 12, while mothers of babies and toddlers make up 30% of readership.
"We've grown up, and so has our logo," says Kim Little, founder and president of Springfield Moms. "Our new logo represents a loving family living in today's technology driven society. We are confident readers will embrace our new look that better reflects the readership we have built over the past several years. Our readers have children of ALL ages, but they share a common trait — love for their family and appreciation for accessing and sharing information with other families online."
From January 2007 to the present, www.SpringfieldMoms.org has enjoyed more than 10,782 unique hits on the overall website and page views at more than 45,091 pages. Specific pages have received more than 202,000 hits. This level of interest and activity has attracted major new charter sponsors, which are positioned prominently on the website and in a new product and services directory currently under development.
"The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum is thrilled to partner with SpringfieldMoms.org to promote our adult and children-related programs to families interested in enhancing their children's lives and educational opportunities," says Jennifer Tirey, Deputy Director of ALPLM.
"The SpringfieldMoms.org website is a great advertising tool to reach area families via the Internet to learn more about our services," adds Patty Knepler, YMCA Marketing and Development Director.
Currently, 32% of Springfield Moms readers visit the site after hearing from other area moms, relatives or community agencies. Twenty-six percent of readers reach the website via a web search looking online for specific area information about events, products or services. Twenty-four percent of readers learn about the website through community events like Halloween at the Market where volunteers staff a Springfield Moms information booth and offer families free kids' crafts activities.
The website has always been the focus, however.
"First and foremost, we wanted to provide area parents with an easily accessible resource that fits into their busy family's lifestyle," Little says. "The fact that our sponsors enable us to offer this service to readers free-of-charge makes this a win-win for everyone involved, especially our community and the surrounding areas."
