The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and
Museum offers Death and Mr. Lincoln
Tour and Luncheon
Day-long tour to include visits to Lincoln Tomb, the Museum
of Funeral Customs and more
Springfield, Ill. On Saturday, March 10, from 9:00 a.m. — 3:00 p.m., the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum will offer Death and Mr. Lincoln — Tour and Luncheon. Join distinguished writer Thomas J. Craughwell, the author of Stealing Lincoln's Body, for a unique look at death, mourning and Mr. Lincoln. The day will include specialized tours of Lincoln Tomb and the Museum of Funeral Customs, a luncheon presentation by Mr. Craughwell and a visit to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum's featured, temporary exhibit, Tales from the Crypt: A History of the Lincoln Tomb.
The cost is $25 per person. The price includes transportation, museum admission, lunch, pre-release book signing and presentation by Mr. Craughwell. Advance copies of Craughwell's Stealing Lincoln's Body will be available for purchase. Professional development units (CPDUs) will be offered for the tour. Reservations can be made beginning Monday, Jan. 29th by calling 217-558-8934. Payment by Mastercard or Visa is accepted and due at the time of the reservation. The reservation deadline is March 1.
Thomas J. Craughwell, author of Stealing Lincoln's Body (Harvard University Press, 2007), has written more than a dozen books on history, religion, and popular culture. His articles have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The American Spectator, Emmy magazine, and Inside the Vatican. He has been a guest on CNN, the BBC, The Discovery Channel, and the international Catholic cable network, EWTN. He writes out of his home in Bethel, Connecticut.
