Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum volunteers
Springfield, IL — The 200th birthday celebration for Abraham Lincoln continues throughout 2009, and volunteers are being sought who want to be a part of this year’s activities at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum.
A volunteer orientation program has been scheduled for Wednesday, March 18 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library. Training sessions following the orientation will be held March 24 and April 1 and 8, all at 5:30 p.m. in Library Multi-Purpose Room and will feature Library Director Kathryn Harris and State Historian Tom Schwartz. Volunteers are required to attend the orientation and training sessions, and are asked to make a commitment of two four-hour shifts per month.
Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum volunteers are needed to greet visitors and assist with special events and educational programs. They may also take advantage of continuing education programs throughout the year. For more information or to register for the March 18 orientation program, contact Volunteer Services Coordinator Linda Bee at (217) 558-8872.
