"One Destiny" performances continue during
March and April at Presidential Museum
Springfield, IL — The acclaimed new drama "One Destiny," which drew capacity crowds during February performances, will continue at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum with performances during March and April.
The play is staged in the museum's Union Theatre, and tickets are free with paid Museum admission. Show times during March are 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 14; Tuesday, March 17; Friday, March 20; Wednesday, March 25; and Saturday, March 28. April performances include Thursday, April 2; Friday, April 10; Tuesday through Saturday, April 14 through 18; and Friday, April 24. April show times are 1:30 p.m., except for April 14 and 15, when show times will be 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Richard Hellesen's play, which originated at Ford's Theatre in Washington, DC, takes place in the days after the assassination of President Lincoln in April 1865. Harry Hawk – the actor who was performing onstage when the president was shot – revisits the night of April 14 with Harry Ford, the theatre's manager. Two actors, Terry Jones and Ed MacMurdo, play several characters during the course of the 35-minute performance.
