Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum prepares for a busy tourist season
Thousands of visitors already booked for May

SPRINGFIELD, IL: With the peak tourism season still a few months away, the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum anticipates record numbers going in to its second year of operation. For the month of May alone, 24,716 visitors have been pre-scheduled to tour the ALPLM which will open a major temporary exhibit of America's First Ladies on May 13. To date, over 530,000 visitors have toured the Museum since its April 19, 2005 dedication.

Many of the thousands of visitors booked to visit the ALPLM in May are school children from around the state. They include: Peoria Heights Grade School, Fisher Grade School, Manteno Elementary School, Lake Zurich Middle School, Oak Grove Jr. High, and Moline High School to name a few.

With long lines expected at the ALPLM this summer, visitors can avoid them by purchasing tickets prior to their visit. By calling the Museum Telephone Box Office, tickets can be purchased over the phone and picked-up at Will-Call the day of the visit. Tickets can be purchased up to one day prior to the visit. The Museum Telephone Box Office is open Monday-Friday, 9am to 4pm. The phone number is 217-558-8934. Visa and Mastercard are accepted. Senior, Student and Military discounts are available. Visitors can also contact the Telephone Box Office with any questions about the ALPLM or surrounding Lincoln sites.
